Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the configuration and support of MSSQL Database Platforms:
o Responding to incidents
o Performing problem/root cause analysis
o Implementing service and change requests
• Responsible for pro-active monitoring/tuning of the database environment and contributing to the definition and measurement of KPI’s.
• Responsible for producing standard operating procedures for transfer of tasks to L1 / Service Desk analysts.
• The MS-SQL Database Administrator will be a technical SME in MS-SQL:
o MSSQL 2008-12 deployment (standalone / clustered / physical / virtual)
o Database installation, patching, upgrades
o Database maintenance automation, backup, restore Database integration with ecosystems (VMware, cmdb, monitoring, security etc.)
o SQL Server DB Replication Administration
• This role will require availability to work on a shift rotation basis.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Engineering and/or related degree.
• 3 years plus in a MSSQL Database Administration role with IT Industry recognized qualifications/certifications
• MSSQL 2008-2012 administration (standalone & clustered) experience
• Knowledge of automated provisioning/patching tools
• Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients from multiple functional areas and with IT peers
• Experience of working within an ITIL framework
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Experience of working with ticket management systems such as ServiceNow is an advantage
• Travel industry experience preferred
