Job Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Manager support the production of communication materials to disseminate IRRI knowledge and technologies. Establish and maintain linkages with internal and external clients. Recommend and enforce standards for communication products. Train staff and other stakeholders.

This position in funded by the SDC under CORIGAP and will have a strong research component. The position will require regular field work in at least 3 of our partner countries in Asia.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Development Communication, Journalism, Languages or related field with minimum 5 years of relevant work experience or;
Master’s degree in Communication, Development Communication, Journalism, Languages, or related field with 2 years of relevant work experience

Skills Required:
Experience in developing communication products
Strong written and oral communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Some experience packaging communication materials
Some experience working with partners, including government agencies
Some experience in project management
Some experience in communication research

Preferred:
Experience in developing training materials and acting as resource person in training
Experience in preparing scripts and developing videos
