Overview of Role

Serve as the regional control panel subject matter expert to support all activities related to control panel quotes. Apply technical and practical knowledge to support internal and external control panel related technical review and discussions.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:
Perform customer control panel specification reviews; interpret the specifications and Watlow thermal system requirements and prepare the RFQ documents to obtain the control panel quotes both internally and from the third party suppliers; review the detailed control panel quotes from the suppliers against the specs and requirements to confirm consistency; support control panel on-site service and control panel design. Work closely with suppliers and customers to design control panels with best solution and most cost efficiency. Follow all organization and department safety policies and procedures and identify improvements where necessary. Research suppliers and new sources of products, components and materials. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.


Qualifications:
Must have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 4 years of industrial electrical design.
• Demonstrated capability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, electrical layout drawings, and other control panel related documentation.
• Demonstrated capability of specifying component parts for integration into the overall power and/or control panels in order to meet regulatory and customer needs.
• Demonstrated experience to interpret customer specifications to generate quote requests to suppliers; and review the resultant quotes for adequacy based on customer specifications and Watlow requirements.
• Demonstrated capability to interact with design team, CART, account managers and sales to optimize a system solution for the customer
• Working knowledge of electrical standards such as UL508A, NEC, IEC/CE 60204-1 and 61439, IEC (60079) and ATEX, as they pertain to control panel design and integration.
• Knowledge of hazardous area requirements.
• Perform mental tasks such as critical decision making, organizing many topics, prioritizing work to align with business objectives and exercising good judgement.
• Ability to communicate and interact with suppliers and customers effectively.
• Fluent in English both verbal and written
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
• Understanding and practical application of CAD, statistical analysis tool, and Microsoft Office. Experience with modeling, analysis and PLC programming is a plus
• Proven engineering skills in design and testing of power control panel
