Job Summary:
Effectively this role would suite a systems admin with dev ops experience. If you have worked in small/medium firms on all sorts of technology/systems over ~7 years this is the role for you. This will be a varied role that will see you juggling multiple projects/issues/systems in a rapidly evolving/growing firm.
This is the 1st hire into the infrastructure team in the Philippines. You will be working alongside a growing dev team of ~15 staff locally and ~15 additionally in the UK. This role is varied. We are seeking someone with a general all-round skill set that is used to simply getting stuck in. It is vital you possess good communication skills and are comfortable dealing with all levels of the business.
The right applicant will have experience being a hands-on technical leader able to operate in the weeds when necessary but also at a management level developing and improving processes and technical operations across the group. The infrastructure team operates as one across the globe. Applicants should be comfortable supporting and working with all staff across any location and at any level.
Skills:
· Networking knowledge to CCNA level or higher
· Experience administrating Linux and Windows operating systems
· General sys admin skills – AV, monitoring tools, PBXs, firewalls, routers, switches, desktops… etc.
· Experience in deployment automation, monitoring and maintaining cloud infrastructure (AWS)
· Experience with containerisation tools
· Understanding of the "infrastructure as code" paradigm
· Scripting experience (Linux, PowerShell)
· Knowledge of penetration testing, stress testing and performance testing
· Firm understanding of Security principles and their implementation in day to day activities.
· Understanding you will be working in a start-up and you will have to support anything with a “plug”
Desirable:
· Experience troubleshooting desktop applications on Windows
· Experience with AWS CloudFormation
· Experience in finance with real time trading systems/market data
· Experience in working in a regulated financial firm
· Experienced in working with multinational global teams
