Description

The Assessor is responsible for evaluating vehicles to determine their current market value, condition, and any damage or wear that could affect pricing, resale, or repair decisions. The role involves conducting inspections, providing accurate assessments, and preparing reports that guide sales, insurance claims, repairs, or fleet management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess their physical condition, including exterior, interior, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Identify any damage, wear, or modifications that could affect the vehicle's value
  • Take detailed notes and photographs of the vehicle's condition for records and reporting purposes.
  • Determine the fair market value of a vehicle based on its make, model, age, condition, mileage, and market trends.
  • Consider factors such as accident history, repair needs, and current market demand when determining vehicle value.
  • Provide accurate appraisals for sales, insurance claims, and vehicle purchases or leases.
  • Prepare detailed assessment reports that include an evaluation of the vehicle’s condition, estimated repair costs (if applicable), and valuation.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, including photographs, written reports, and any other documentation related to the vehicle evaluation process.
  • Submit reports to insurance companies, dealerships, or fleet managers in a timely and organized manner.
  • Communicate effectively with customers (e.g., vehicle owners, buyers, or sellers) to explain assessments, answer questions, and provide information regarding vehicle value or condition.
  • If applicable, handle customer inquiries or concerns regarding appraisals or insurance claims.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of any four (4) year course (related fields such as automotive technology or business is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, models, and current market trends.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-experts.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to test drive vehicles as part of the evaluation process.
